Introducing Mark Thomas

Making B2B sales easy for small business owners, has been my passion since 2019. Prior to this my roles over 20 years have been in sales, predominately supplying equipment to large industry. Those industries include automotive and petrochem in the UK and mining, quarrying and minerals processing in Australia.

My broad experience has demanded a range of skills including lead generation, application consulting, installation training, distribution management, applications engineering and business development.

Since completing an MBA at QUT I have been a consultant to small business, applying the processes and system that makes B2B sales work. I hear business owners say “I employed my salesperson to do that” but the salespeople rarely have the time or the skills to put the processes in place. That’s why an external consultant is essential for this role. The salespeople tell me that they tried to implement this or that and they were ignored. That’s because deep down the business owner knows the answer, that salespeople lack the time and skills to make it happen.

I’ve always been a pragmatist and communicate directly about where I can and can’t add value, I’m a problem solver. I only bill for work that’s been or being done and when I’ve stopped providing value, I will fire myself. I have a business to run and a family to feed too, which is why I understand you.
